Summary

4! The 4 essential elements that shape our culture: Inspired. Curious. Unbossed. Integrity. Our mission is to discover new ways to improve and extend peoples’ lives. Your passion to build, implement business plans to meet the sales goals, develop effective professional business relationships with Healthcare Professionals will help the world understand what these medicines do, why they matter and how Novartis is aspiring to reimagine medicine. At Novartis Global Health & Sustainability (GH&S), we have a long-standing history in addressing global health challenges. Over the past 20 years, our approach has evolved from purely donation-based to also include other models with more balanced social impact. Today, we apply our expertise and full organizational capabilities to address major, unresolved global health challenges. In India, our GH&S team is focused on improving healthcare for underserved populations through our long-standing Arogya Parivar (AP) program, a community health program which addresses key needs that impact access to healthcare and health outcomes, such as health education, health service delivery and access to medicines for hard-to-reach populations. The program is currently focused on two key disease areas – Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and Leprosy. The Government of India recently announced ambitious plans to eliminate SCD by 2047, including an emphasis on awareness creation, universal screening for specific populations and effective counseling. Under our AP program, we are supporting the government of India’s goal to increase access to SCD services in tribal communities through health systems strengthening and improving access to medicines. In the area of Leprosy, Novartis donations of multidrug therapy to the WHO have been a cornerstone for global elimination efforts, leading to the treatment of more than 7.3 million leprosy patients worldwide since 2000. The government of India has set forth a vision for a “Leprosy-free India” through the National Leprosy Eradication Program, with a mission to provide free quality leprosy services to all sections of the population. Arogya Parivar will support the government of India in reaching its leprosy elimination goals by building on our company’s long-standing expertise in the field and leveraging our experience in expanding access to healthcare for marginalized patients and communities and enhancing our current donation program for LPEP (Leprosy Post-Exposure-Prophylaxis) with Single Dose Rifampicin (SDR). The Head, Global Health India role is an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact on the health of underserved patients across India. As the leader of this innovative social-impact program, you will be responsible for driving program design and execution and supporting the Government in addressing key public health goals. The role requires a unique individual with a blend of public health expertise, highly effective stakeholder management and team leadership, and commercial experience.
