Summary

Collaborate closely with scientists and members of the BioMedical Research Informatics organization to re-define Novartis BioMedical Research-wide informatics systems and meet the challenges arising from cutting-edge research. Contribute to or support aspects of planning, design, development and delivery of system solutions for a specific business or technology area, in alignment with design and architectural standards and business requirements.

About the Role

Location: Hyderabad

Purpose of the role:

As a Senior Principal Scientific Business Analyst, your primary responsibility will be to collaborate closely with scientists and members of the Biomedical Research (BR) Informatics organization. Together, you will work towards redefining informatics systems across the enterprise in order to address the challenges that arise from cutting-edge research. In this role, you will contribute to and support various aspects of planning, design, development, and delivery of system solutions for a specific business or technology area. Your work will be guided by design and architectural standards, as well as business requirements. These solutions will be specifically used in the drug discovery domain within exploratory research.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for gathering user requirements and conducting needs assessments to guide the development and selection of software systems.

Accountable for eliciting, defining, and documenting various types of requirements (functional, non-functional, transitional, and business) from customers, using an integrated approach to design.

Documenting all relevant business analysis deliverables throughout the project lifecycle, from initial planning to production release.

Interview customers at all levels of the organization to understand goals, objectives, and processes, in order to identify and solve problems.

Organize and facilitate requirements sessions and workshops with diverse user groups.

Work closely with cross-functional groups (User Researcher, UX Design, Product Management) in a matrixed organization to build effective relationships throughout the organization.

Ensure compliance with Novartis global Information Security and Quality standards and policies for all products and services.

If applicable, ensure compliance with Regulatory Standards (e.g. GLP & GCP) for GxP products and services.

Experience / Skills:

Holding an advanced degree in biology, biotechnology, bioinformatics, or a related scientific discipline, and/or computer science, with exposure to the drug discovery domain.

Possessing 5+ years of experience in the business analysis field, demonstrating a deep understanding of core methodologies and their practical application.

Exhibiting excellent presentation and meeting facilitation skills and demonstrating professional communication and interaction with all customers in the organization, including managing customer demands and expectations.

Showing advanced capabilities in interacting with scientists and delivering exceptional customer service. Experienced in working in an agile software development environment (SCRUM/Kanban), using tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Understanding product roadmaps, product vision, and scope, and supporting Product Owners in defining these deliverables.
