Bribery and corruption
Novartis doesn’t tolerate bribery. Bribery means to offer, promise or provide an undue benefit to a public official with the intention of obtaining or retaining an improper advantage by encouraging the official to act, or refrain from acting, in connection with an official duty. Our Anti-Bribery Policy explicitly states expectations for all associates. We also clearly state our standards in the Novartis Code of Conduct and specific standards for each division, such as the Novartis Pharma Principles and Practices for Professionals (NP4).
Our Integrity and Compliance program educates associates and monitors conformity with these standards and industry codes of practice. Our Business Practices Office investigates all allegations of misconduct.
