Novartis LIGHTS UP for Rare Disease Day 2021

Mar 22, 2021

There are over 300 million people worldwide living with rare disease1. At Novartis, we are committed to improving the lives of those people, as well as their loved ones, through researching and developing new medicines to treat numerous rare diseases. The area of our company that focuses on this, Novartis Gene Therapies, has its European quality, distribution and logistics located in North Dublin.

As part of our work to be an ally to those affected by rare disease, we joined the LIGHT UP campaign, illuminating our offices at Elm Park, Dublin for Rare Disease Day on 28th February 2021. Living with a rare disease can be lonely, so we supported Rare Disease Ireland’s efforts to create a chain of lights across Ireland as a symbolic way to break the isolation of living with a rare condition. The building was illuminated blue, pink and green, the international colours of rare disease, to remind those affected by rare disease in Ireland that they are not alone.
