Summary

Acts as part of a global specialized legal and compliance solutions team in NOCCs supporting Novartis legal and compliance services cost-effectively and with quality and service excellence. Provides expert data privacy related legal advice and support, data privacy management services which include the management of privacy incidents, cookie compliance and privacy impact assessments for Novartis teams globally, including coordinating with local teams.

About the Role

Major accountabilities:

  • Provide privacy services to the ERC DPDAI including advice, operational support, management and guidance affiliates across Novartis
  • Complete GDPR Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs) and other privacy risk/impact assessments as required, ensuring that business operations and processes adequately address data protection and privacy requirements;
  • As required provide data privacy support such as:
    • Dealing with data privacy queries;
    • Supporting the execution of global data privacy initiatives;
    • Supporting data privacy inspection and, audits according to legal requirements and internal policies and procedures;
    • Managing data privacy requests made by data subjects globally;
    • Managing data privacy incidents globally, including coordinating with other parts of the organization  and ensuring the timely completion of such cases from start to finish, including, when applicable, remediation and reporting to authorities;
  • Remain fully knowledgeable about privacy and data protection laws, local interpretations, developments and trends in Europe and working knowledge of developments in US and other key regions
  • Attend trainings and stay updated on legislative and regulatory developments in the life sciences and data protection areas, industry best practices
  • Deliver services in line with service and operational excellence requirements including but not limited to:
    • Implementing and maintaining quality control, adherence to agreed timelines and technical excellence in service delivery;
    • Identify and resolve operational issues, communicate recommendations/solutions to local or global managers/partners;
    • Deliver regular operational reports, Monthly/Quarterly KPI reports and, as needed, business reports regarding SLA completion / Finance metrics and additional KPIs;
    • Develop and maintain resources such as knowledge bank / playbooks to applicable legal standard for key jurisdictions / subject matters.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Experience in completing privacy risk/impact assessments.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  •  6+ years’ experience in a privacy, legal, compliance or risk management role.
  • Strong knowledge of national and European privacy and data protection laws and practices, an in-depth understanding of GDPR and it’s application.
  • Excellent organization and workload management skills
