Summary

Manage Statutory, Governance, Business Partnering and Export Operations for Austria Sales Branch Office, with efficiency and reputation, based on Novartis Pharma Services AG’ strategic oversight ($250+ mio Sales, 20 Distributors, 5 Countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Malta, and Slovenia). As a trusted leadership partner, you'll champion cross-functional collaboration, continuous improvement, and ethical business practices.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage Sales Branch Office (SBO) activities, review and sign contracts and other legal documents on behalf of SBO, review and sign tax filings, bank documents and other statutory submissions to public authorities for the SBO

  • Lead operational business partnering guidance and solutions to country teams, enabling the achievement of impactful performance and patient access objectives

  • Drive enhancement of governance, reputation, and ethical culture mindset, building trust with society

  • Manage key risks effectively (assess, develop mitigation plans and monitor their execution)

  • Manage export operations activities related to the export business of SBO Countries

  • Drive cross-functional and cross-country automation projects with focus on Supply Chain/ Order Management processes

  • Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to further optimize Export operations for SBO countries

  • Act as a company representative with external stakeholders (third parties, distributors, health authorities)

  • Lead by influence to enhance awareness, knowledge, and capabilities on export business model, working closely with key stakeholders at country and cluster level

  • Enable cross functional collaboration between local, cluster, global and head office teams functions (e.g.: supply chain, quality assurance, finance, credit management, legal, export operations, tax, treasury)

  • Lead projects to improve operational excellence, productivity and business performance, aiming to higher customer satisfaction, quality and reputation

  • Contribute to NPhS activities and projects beyond Austria SBO, when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Relevant degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Law, or Marketing, complemented by several years of international corporate experience ideally within pharmaceutical multinationals, specializing in export, finance or business operations.

  • Proven expertise in export operations, supply management, finance, and contract law within the pharmaceutical industry, exhibiting a broad business insight.

  • Unwavering commitment to customer satisfaction, patient access, and upholding organizational reputation through strategic decision-making.

  • Hands-on experience in leading cross-functional teams, demonstrating influence to achieve shared objectives and drive impactful outcomes. Track record of prioritizing ethical business practices, cultural sensitivity, and adaptability in dynamic, multinational environments.

  • Exceptional communication and negotiation proficiency, adeptly fostering collaborative relationships with internal teams and external partners.

  • Demonstrated success in managing business process improvement projects, driving continuous optimization and operational excellence.

  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is a must; multi-lingual skills are a distinct asset, enabling effective cross-cultural engagement.

In addition to a market-competitive base salary, we offer an attractive incentive program, a modern company pension scheme, childcare facilities, learning and development opportunities as well as worldwide career possibilities within the Novartis group. GJFA 1-4: In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 80,433 / year (on a full-time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
