About the Role

Novartis, a world-class focused medicines company, is seeking a Clinical Development Medical Director to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our research efforts and contribute to the development of groundbreaking medical innovations.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and oversee clinical development programs, ensuring detailed execution and adherence to regulatory standards
  • Create and implement clinical trial protocols, while ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines and widely recognized standards.
  • Work closely with colleagues from different departments and external partners to establish study goals, desired outcomes, and strategies for analyzing data.
  • Manage and mentor a team of clinical research professionals, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment
  • Provide medical expertise and guidance throughout the development lifecycle, from early-phase trials to post-marketing activities
  • Act as a key point of contact for investigators, regulatory authorities, and other relevant parties
  • Proactively identify and address any potential risks or challenges, implementing appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Contribute to the publication of study results, ensuring high-quality and impactful scientific publications
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in clinical research and therapeutic areas relevant to our portfolio

Requirements:

  • Medical degree and specialized training in the relevant therapeutic area
  • Proven experience in clinical development within the pharmaceutical industry or academic research
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards, including GCP and ICH guidelines
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Track record of successfully implementing clinical trials, from study design to data analysis and reporting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, managing multiple priorities and competing deadlines
