About the Role
Your responsibilities will include:
Leverage molecular biology techniques to validate new targets
Conceive, plan, optimize, and execute in vitro cell-based and/or biochemical assays for mechanism of action and target validation studies
Leverage culture of primary cells and cell lines or organoids together with a variety of experimental endpoints flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, microscopy) to support project progression
Utilizes growing awareness of the drug discovery and/or early development pipeline to identify complex problems, present innovative solutions and drive their implementation.
Key member of drug discovery/technology/development project teams with regular accountability within the project for own area of expertise.
Utilizes established networks and builds new network connections, including outside of existing project team.
Clearly present results and data to teams within DAx Renal Research group and across BR
Work in compliance with the Novartis Code of Conduct and in accordance with Novartis guidelines on health and safety and data recording
Minimum Requirements - What you will bring to the role:
BSc or MSc (or equivalent) in Life Sciences (please note that we not require a PhD/Postdoctoral level candidaite for this position at this time).
Laboratory experience with 3-6 years experience in an industrial drug discovery setting
Demonstrable experience in the culture of human primary cells, including 3D complex cell models and/or organoids, including passaging, freezing, and aseptic technique.
Experience in a range of laboratory techniques, possibly including immunofluorescence, flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, Western blotting, and/or biochemical assays.
Track record of independent work and demonstrated creativity.
Experience working with cross-functional teams and serving as a point-of-contact for the team
Proficiency in computer use and laboratory software programs.
Proven excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills
Desirable Expertise:
Ability to independently design and interpret experiments and plan next steps with support from matrixed collaborators
Experience in development of assays for target validation and mechanism-of-action studies
Expertise in kidney diseases and their molecular mechanisms
Languages :
English.
