O diagnóstico de Espondilartrite Axial, onde se inclui a Espondilartrite Axial Radiográfica, classicamente designada Espondilite Anquilosante, é geralmente um momento caracterizado pelo surgimento de dúvidas e incertezas por parte do doente e seus familiares e amigos.

Foi com os objetivos de disponibilizar informação relevante que contribua para esclarecer as questões mais frequentes, e de ajudar os doentes a fazer uma gestão mais ativa da patologia que desenvolvemos, em parceria com a Associação Nacional de Espondilite Anquilosante (ANEA) e em conjunto com a Sociedade Portuguesa de Reumatologia (SPR), o **Guia Prático para uma Vida Ativa com Espondilartrite Axial** e o **Programa de Exercício na Espondilartrite Axial**.

O guia ***Viver com Espondilartrite Axial – 20 perguntas que sempre quis fazer*** surge como uma ferramenta orientadora e de suporte à gestão da Espondilartrite Axial, ao incluir uma abordagem prática e abrangente a algumas das questões mais frequentes do dia-a-dia de um doente ou seus familiares e amigos.

Pretende-se que este guia seja uma ferramenta de auxílio, sendo importante referir que cada doente tem um conjunto de características únicas, pelo que a equipa de profissionais de saúde que acompanha cada pessoa deve sempre ser a referência mais importante.

## Plano de Exercício na Espondilartrite Axial

Um tratamento e um estilo de vida adequados permitem à maioria dos doentes experienciar longos períodos com a doença controlada. É por isso que, na maioria dos casos, paralelamente ao tratamento farmacológico, é recomendado que os doentes realizem atividade física regular e/ou fisioterapia.

Para ajudar a que os doentes e seus familiares e amigos tenham acesso a um conjunto de exercícios adequados aos vários estadios da doença, foi desenvolvido o ***Programa de Exercício na Espondilartrite Axial*** com quatro planos de exercício: treino Cardiovascular, treino de Força, de Flexibilidade e de Equilíbrio – bem como um vídeo com Noções de ergonomia. Este programa de exercícios pode ser realizado num ginásio ou outra instalação desportiva, no domicilio ou ao ar livre.
