“My least favorite term in our field is ‘undruggable target.’”
Chemical Biology at NIBR
We organize our early discovery efforts around a scientific discipline called chemical biology, which combines biology, chemistry and computer science.
Our science is deeply interconnected and nimble, open and accepting of criticism, prioritized to win in a competitive landscape, and – most importantly – impatient in its delivery to patients.
Our research benefits from an external network of more than 300 academic and 100 industry alliances focused on areas of mutual scientific interest.
Our teams aim to deliver on the promise of cell and gene therapy for patients. Working with emerging tools, we are pushing at the edge of what is possible to bring entirely new types of treatments to patients with devastating diseases, including genetic disorders and certain deadly cancers.
Novartis looks for dedicated team members to join its research efforts around the world. We recruit the best and brightest at all levels of expertise.
