Job Description

Your Responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:
• Collaborate with the APMEA C&E Head to ensure alignment on proactive media and influencer outreach, portfolio news, manage news flow across the APMA region related to therapy area/franchise
• Collaborate with the Head of External Communications for Europe and Asia to drive reputation-critical topics for the Novartis group within the region in order to shape the healthcare-environment.
• Counsel senior management of the cross-functional teams in all aspects of therapy area communications and develop communications messages around key programs and initiatives.
• Lead and support daily media relations work for APMA region, support key countries in times of need
• Support therapy area crisis communications and issues management in the region and countries on a needs-basis
• Work closely with the DRU Brand Communications & Advocacy leads to drive performance through insight-driven communications strategies and targeted content for multi-channel communications activities (traditional, social and digital channels) with a focus on strategic priority brands & disease areas;
• If needed, manage agencies and budgets, track progress, ensure deadlines are met, and ensure quality and compliance for regional level initiatives;
• Establish mechanisms to measure effectiveness and business impact of communications

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• University degree in communications, business or science
• Fluency in English, with strong verbal and writing skills. Regional language skills are appreciated; additional Asian/Middle Eastern language a plus
• Experience in international environment and with international teams; experience in the pharma industry highly desirable
• Minimum ten years professional experience in a media relations or communications role in a major corporation, trade association or public relations agency.
• Demonstrated ability to influence high-level media
• Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, brand PR, including excellent understanding of the healthcare space; FMCG background a plus
