Job Description

6000! That’s the number of associates in the Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research (NIBR). This division is the innovation engine of Novartis, focusing on powerful new technologies that have the potential to help produce therapeutic breakthroughs for patients.
The Oncology Innovative Targets & Technologies (IT&T) group is laser-focused on discovering the next wave of novel therapeutic targets! Our team represents the first step in the quest to bring new medicines to oncology patients. However, our job does not end when we discover and validate new targets—we now have to figure out how to drug them, creating a foundation on which to build a world-class drug discovery program.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Performing high- and low-throughput genetic perturbation/deep mutational scanning screens to explore mechanisms of protein deregulation for high-value drug targets;
• Developing cellular and molecular assays to examine target biology and mechanistic studies;
• Working fluidly with protein sciences, drug discovery teams, structural biologists, and molecular modelers to convert mechanistic insights into therapeutic hypotheses;
• Analyzing, interpreting and communicating data within group regularly;
• Contributing to a global team based on determining how to drug “impossible” targets in oncology.
