Kunstmatige intelligentie, ook wel bekend als Artificial Intelligence (AI), is een relatief nieuwe technologie die ook toegepast wordt voor de verbetering van de zorg.

Zo verwachten we dat we dankzij AI de zorg proactief kunnen maken in plaats van reactief. Daarmee hopen we dat we met behulp van AI in staat zullen zijn om voorspellingen te doen of zelfs ziekten of de verergering daarvan te voorkomen. In diverse landen werken we al samen met Microsoft aan het toepassen van AI in de gezondheidszorg, bijvoorbeeld om de coronapandemie en andere uitdagingen in de zorg het hoofd te bieden.

Daarnaast gebruiken we AI ook voor het ontdekken van nieuwe medicijnen. Hoe we dat doen, zie je in onderstaande video:
