Job Description

15 Petabyte of data hosted, 49 countries supported, 15000 servers and thousands of devices to connect locations and businesses.

The role is to lead large technology and project/program management teams (approximately 80+ internal associates supported by 500+ externals) to define and implement Data and Analytics Platform capabilities for Novartis, overseeing the spend of approximately $100M annually.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Accountable for building, maintaining, and enhancing Data and Analytics platforms using innovative technologies that deliver highest value for the business in enabling Data Management, Analytics, Data Science and AI capabilities

• Deliver against agreed KPIs applying fit for purpose technologies and project lifecycle methodologies (including Waterfall, Agile, and DevSecOps) and establish efficient project governance framework to communicate with customers on a timely manner

• Work closely with Enterprise Architecture team and technology & cloud partners (such as Microsoft, Amazon, Oracle, Databricks, Snowflake, Informatica, etc.) to define technology roadmaps and to translate concepts into scalable products

• Accountable for the full platform solution lifecycle ensuring continued optimization, delivery interval reductions, and cost optimizations

• Adopt user-centric design approach and automated testing practices to rollout solutions rapidly

• Ensure compliance of all designed solution within platform architecture scope to all relevant internal/external requirements (e.g., GxP, SOX, Information Security and Compliance framework)

• Define and maintain design and coding standards. Support project and operations teams during the lifecycle

• Handle, coach, and oversee large internal and external associates distributed across key Novartis locations across the globe and infuse new culture and attitude at role modelling Novartis values & behaviors.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent with 20+ years of experience

• In depth understanding of building, maintaining, and enhancing large scale Enterprise Data Management and Analytics platforms

• In depth experience of handling large scale project and portfolio investments in the order of $100M annually

• Working with internal and external partners to implement enterprise data management, data integration and analytics platforms using fit for purpose technology, comprising of large teams (>500 internals & externals combined)

• An analytical attitude with problem-solving skills with In-depth knowledge on technical and data management standard processes to ensure efficient design and delivery

• Ability to convert abstracts into executable projects and programs and familiarity with modern database and information system technologies is a plus

• Proven track record of enabling change in a large, matrix organization and building high performance teams and coaching staff for excellence

• Superb communication, collaboration, influencing and partner management skills with learning agility, continuous improvement attitude and attention to details
