As a Safety Expert (m/f/d) you will be responsible for coordinating the implementation of security standards and providing security support to the site HSE function. You will monitor and report on safety related performance indicators in line with legislation, internal regulations, best practices and business objectives.

Your key responsibilities:
• Ensure effective support in preparation and execution of Safety programs, plans and objectives in line with legal requirements, Novartis internal standards and Global Operations Center operating model.
• Creates value by implementing greater efficiency and standardization in the deployment of safety resources, processes and programs.
• Monitors safety related legislative changes, regulatory developments, emerging issues and trends to determine associated applicability to Novartis businesses, facilities and products.
• Participates in and actively contributes to the development of safety programs and systems.
• Supports preparation and execution of safety annual plan and provides regular, objective and evidence-based overview of the effectiveness of the implementation of the plan for respective safety area.
• Conducts risk assessments and establish risk mitigation plans within the area of responsibility. Evaluates and reports risks / findings / opportunities for improvement to relevant stakeholders to ensure that immediate actions or interim risk solutions are taken. Monitors overall execution of corrective and preventive actions and takes appropriate actions to ensure their implementation.
• Manages safety external service providers in line with legal and internal Novartis standards.
• Participates in cross-functional teams, committees and task forces. Develops networks and connects with other clusters, sites, functions and/or Global Expert Teams on safety issues and programs.

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• University degree in risk management, safety management, or engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of professional experience. Experience in manufacturing/specific safety area environment.
• In depth, proven expertise in specific safety area.
• Ability to influence without line authority and demonstrated ability to articulate safety matters to non-HSE professionals.
• Advanced level in English is required. Intermediate or higher level in German is preferred.
