Novartis Oncology is part of the Novartis Group, a global leader in the healthcare industry. The Oncology business unit in Germany, based in Nuremberg, is the world's second largest oncology unit within Novartis and one of the leading German specialists in cancer therapy. In research and development, the Oncology business unit is one of Novartis' most important units.

In the course of setting up the new Strategy & Business Development department in the Oncology organization in Germany, this re-organization will be instrumental in ensuring that Novartis continues to thrive in a rapidly changing market focused on digital, data, competitiveness and operational excellence.

Purpose of the job:

The purpose of the newly created position is the responsibility for aligning strategically the leadership on business strategy, priorities and decision making as well as for orchestrating the pro-active execution of all strategic initiatives. He/she maximises effectiveness and efficiency of the German Novartis Oncology Organisation and strengthens skills and capabilities for long-term business success.

Your resonsibilities are amongst others:

• You will develop and implement the Oncology Business Unit (OBU) Strategic
Plan to support OBU's mission, vision and the attainment of OBU's goals,
ensuring alignment of the Oncology forecasting plans with the Global plans

• You will perform deeply analyzes of relevant markets as well as closely follow
key competitors and their likely strategies in order to create a winning
differentiation positioning

• You will develop and evaluate new programs or state of the art ventures for
applicability and implement them accordingly to support business objectives

• You will drive the digital strategy and implement operationally all digital
activities in alignment of all business functions

• You will develop and implement predictive models to build best customer
experience and to ground
strategical/tactical decision making processes on big data analytics

• You will strengthen the sales execution by successfully implementing
strategic key programs, such as ACE (competitive selling, multi-channel
execution, segmented messaging, customer engagement) and by building the
relevant capabilities in collaboration with Region and Global
This is your background:

• You have a PhD, MD or advanced Business degree with at least 8-10 years
of experience in pharmaceutical business and in business development,
strategic innovation, sales and operation

• You are a strategic visionary with a strong financial bottom line orientation
paired with significant entrepreneurial expertise working as a member of an
executive team

• You have exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative and open
management style; you are a team player and builder

• You have a proven track record in designing/developing/directing innovative
program development within a complex and rapidly changing environment
and you have demonstrated ability to create innovative approaches to solving
challenging problems within the competitive pharmaceutical industry

• Good IT experience (with good knowledge in the digital field) and fluent
English and German skills (written and oral) complete your profile
