Oncology Group Leader, Cellular Assays
We are looking for a talented and highly motivated scientific group leader who is passionate about taking part in the identification and development of molecular therapeutics aimed at curing cancer.

The successful candidate will be responsible for applying cutting edge science to the functional and chemical validation of new cancer targets, and for providing molecular pharmacology and cell biology expertise for the chemical optimization of novel therapeutics.

Applicants should have broad experience in cellular and molecular biology as well as in novel cell based screening technologies and will be self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to lead, develop and energize coworkers and collaborators while working effectively in a matrix environment. She/he will also be expected to establish and maintain strong research collaborations both externally and internally across functional groups within Novartis.
• Ph.D. in Cell/Molecular Biology, Biochemistry or related discipline
• 5-10 years experience in Oncology research
• At least 5-year experience in leading teams, coaching and mentoring scientists and associates
• Proven record as driver for scientific innovation
• Strong records of publication in peer-reviewed scientific journals
• Experience with imaging, liquid handling and automation platforms
• Knowledge in Oncology including cancer genetics, cell regulatory networks, cancer cell autonomous dependencies and microenvironment interactions
• Robust user’s knowhow of bioinformatics tools and infrastructure
• Experience with leading or contributing to productive academic collaborations and/or strategic alliances with external partners
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and scientifically driven, proficient reasoning skills in experimental design, data analysis and interpretation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability of providing timely and open feedback
• Demonstrated ability to present experimental data to diverse audiences such as project teams and executive boards
