Job Description
Novartis being a public company and SEC registrant has established internal control system in order to provide reasonable assurance to the Group’s management and Board of Directors regarding the reliability of financial reporting and the preparation and fair presentation of its published consolidated financial statements.
The team's main objective is to assess effectiveness of internal controls over financial reporting by using the criteria established in Internal Control-Integrated Framework (2013) issued by the Committee of Sponsoring Organisations of the Treadway Commission (COSO).
Travel will be a requirement in this role during the audit seasons, primarily to Switzerland.
Key responsibilities:
• You will play an important role as an experienced ERP assurance professional
• You will work as part of our Corporate Financial Controls and Compliance Team and focus on reviewing critical IT controls relevant for financial reporting from General IT Controls through to IT Application Controls and critical system functions
• Provide assurance in the areas of ERP systems (e.g. SAP, others), particularly security, critical transactions, access and process controls, system operations, information coming out of various information systems
• Identifying and analysing risks, ensuring compliance for IT enabled business processes as well as data and audit analytics
• Driving the processes risk assessment with consideration of risks coming from IT environment, relevant application systems, data warehouses, IT infrastructure
• Collaborating with IT Application Owners and Business Process Owners in helping to identify SOX relevant IT Applications and Infrastructures
• Evaluate adequacy of internal controls when implementing a new ERP system or any other technology solutions
• Advise on internal controls' structure by understanding the end-to-end processes, IT environment and data context to determine the right mix of preventative and detective controls based on automation and data analytics
• You will help us prevent controls breakdowns with system changes / within complex systems
• You will collaborate with teams from all over the world

Minimum Requirements
Essential requirements:
• University degree (university or college) in economics, business informatics or computer science with a track record in IT Audit or Internal Controls in any of Big 4 preferably
• You have extensive experience in auditing ERP systems (ideally SAP systems), IT environments and (automated) business process controls
• You have experience in managing IT audit mandates and teams, including strong understanding of external audit approaches, concepts, methodology
• You are experienced in planning, driving and reporting IT Audit mandates with a demonstrated experience for management reporting
• Strong skills to manage various stakeholders and tasks
• Strong collaborator with the ability to communicate well with both technical and business contacts
• You have an entrepreneurial and structured mind-set as well as a result and solution oriented approach to work
• You have exceptional communication, presentation, and business writing skills in English
Desirable requirements:
• Pharma industry and shared services experience is a plus
