Job Description
70 tactical buyers are supporting both commercial and technical operations (related to production sites) out of NOCC (Novartis Corporate Center) in Prague, covering region Europe!
Primary role focus of the Senior Buyer is to provide cross-divisional category expertise for country/cluster, to proactively carry out continuous analyses, frequently re-align the local activities with the global category strategy as well as support the strategy execution in the assigned area.
The role supports continuous improvement and leads implementation of updates/refresh of global/regional category strategy in collaboration with the countries/category teams.
The role is also responsible for the collection of supplier, market, category and internal business data and information. Ensures the delivery of measurable value for Novartis, through alignment of business requirements, strategic sourcing expertise, supplier market intelligence, financial productivity and mitigation of risk.
The Senior Buyer supports data quality management within Procurement function according to the globally defined process to identify opportunities and to support continuous improvement and assures the delivery of services according to defined KPIs and Service Levels.
Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Lead global category implementation in the respective Country / Cluster.
• Successful implementation of global, regional and country projects across categories & functions, support stakeholder alignment and customer satisfaction.
• Accountable productivity/cost efficiency targets in their area of responsibility.
• Serve as key contact for stakeholders in the in their area of responsibility. Build effective relationships of mutual trust and understanding.
• Manage and build effective relationships with key suppliers in their area of responsibility to drive value for Novartis through cost effectiveness and access to innovation.
• Support strategy implementation.
• Leads sourcing plan implementation in area of responsibility through: change planning, negotiation, contract development, etc.
• Actively contribute to the identification of business critical opportunities resulting in process improvement, savings generation.
• Provide cross-divisional category expertise for the Country / Cluster.
• Contracting activities, such as contract preparation and post signature contract management.
• Performance, compliance and standards.

Minimum Requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:
• University/Advanced degree in Business Administration/Economics/Finance/Statistics is required.
• +5 years of relevant experience in a global environment in a similar position.
• Fluent spoken and written English & Spanish.
• Proven experience in spend reporting, analysis and optimization.
• Experience with eSourcing tools.
• Good understanding of Procurement business processes such as Tactical Buying, Catalogue Management, Contract Management, Supplier Setup and Procurement Operations.
• Excellent communication, people management, stakeholder management and leadership skills.
Work Location: Prague.
