Job Description

• Conducts and oversees internal investigations into alleged violations of law, regulations and company policies including allegations of discrimination and harassment

• Works independently or jointly with team members (possibly external resource) to prioritize, manage and investigate allegations in a fair, thorough and timely manner, and provides guidance to colleagues on the handling of investigations

• Develops and executes investigative plans to gather information i.e. witnesses, electronic data, physical evidence to assess the validity of allegations

• Prepares and presents concise written reports and summaries of findings detailing the factual outcome of an investigation utilizing approved standard work and makes recommendations on the treatment of the violator (if it’s the case), countermeasures, operational improvements and risk mitigation

• Liaises with relevant stakeholders including the Ethics, Risk and Compliance (ERC) team, business leaders, HRBPs and employee union representatives, so that HR-related concerns resulting from investigations are discussed and addressed till a case has formally been closed

• Ensures consistent interpretation and application of company policies, concepts and practices in all aspects of the employment relationship and related to ER investigations and related matters

• Identify training needs from ER perspective and coordinate training with the Novartis Learning Institute (NoLI) team or other relevant organization

• Trains and coaches less experienced member(s) to develop candidates for a future ER investigator

• Performs other jobs and duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements

Education:
• A University level degree

Experience/Professional requirement:
• Japanese and English mandatory
• Over 10-year experience in HR
• HR professional with proficient knowledge of Labor

Laws, Regulations and HR program essentials
• An ideal candidate would have intensive experience in ER investigations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, maturity to deal with matters of confidentiality and sensitivity.
• Computer literate with advanced proficiency in desktop applications e.g. MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Excel, MS Outlook
