This role is for a Senior Scientist in the Analytics and Separations group within the Global Discovery Chemistry (GDC) department in Cambridge, MA. In partnership with research and discovery chemistry, the Separations Team confronts the ambitious task of developing analytical and preparative methods for the analysis and purification of achiral and chiral drug discovery molecules.

We are seeking a curious and creative scientist with experience in analytical chemistry and purification and an interest in lab automation systems. The successful candidate will be able to deliver efficient purification workflows using SFC, HPLC, and automated liquid handling platforms. An interest in scripting methods for complex workflows would be beneficial.

Your Key Responsibilities:

- Support medicinal chemistry projects across a variety of disease areas by developing purification workflows in a high throughput automated environment.

- Be a diligent, dedicated lab scientist who executes automated analytical method development and preparative purification workflows with subsequent fraction pooling using automated liquid handlers. Generate final reports including QC package with LCMS and NMR confirmation.

- Troubleshooting and maintenance of SFC ad HPLC instrumentation and laboratory robotics.

- Work with manager and colleagues to troubleshoot issues, iterate and optimize existing automation scripts and workflows.

- Identify and pursue new projects and technologies that directly impact throughput of purifications in early drug discovery research.

- Communicate clearly and work closely with analytical scientists, medicinal chemists, and scientists from a diverse range of disciplines within NIBR.
