Novartis is seeking a Manager Tax Operations to join its team based out of the East Hanover, NJ Campus. In this role you will be responsible for:

 Assistance in preparation and review of interim and annual income tax provision in accordance with IFRS.
 Responsible for quarterly management reporting and preparation / presentation of executive deliverables.
 Maintenance, substantiation, and documentation of book to tax differences, reconciliation of income taxes payable accounts and tax account roll forwards.
 Preparation and / or review of required documentation for external auditor’s interim reviews and year-end tax provision audit and responding to auditors’ inquiries.
 Coordinate with tax planning and tax controversy teams as needed.
 Research and analyze tax accounting and tax technical issues (including legislative changes and new accounting pronouncements) ensuring proper application and disclosures for income tax reporting and compliance purposes.
 Assist in maintenance of SOX 404 controls, including updates to tax-related SOX 404 documentation, control design and testing.
 Gather and analyze financial data, working across finance functions to ensure proper collection of tax sensitive data for the tax accounting and compliance processes.
 Preparation and / or review of federal, state and local income tax filings as well as international tax forms.
 Assistance with quarterly estimated income tax payments.
 Adherence to the internal and external income tax compliance and reporting calendars to ensure all deadlines are met.
 Assess income tax accounting implications of transactions, restructurings and other changes in business profile. Assist in operational tax integration.
 Mentor and develop senior associate(s).
 Assist with special projects as needed.

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to this role:
• BA/BS in Accounting, CPA and/or MS/MBA in Taxation
• 5+ years work experience in tax. Big 4 highly preferred
• Thought-leader level tax and tax accounting technical skills. Strong research, communication and influencing skills/ leadership
• Proficient in OneSource Provision and Compliance, Microsoft Suite of products. Knowledge of SAP and Alteryx a plus.
•Demonstrates sense of ownership, detail oriented.
