Reporting to the C&E Head in the Country, this individual is responsible for creating and driving meaningful strategies to support integrated communications and engagement objectives within the therapeutic area scope (Oncology) and strategically engage with the patient and caregivers community to maximize all the opportunities we have within the organization to shape the narrative and communicate the value of our medicines and our Company.
This role is critical for our organization in order to ensure that the Comms and PE strategies and tactics are developed, executed, and evolved in line with our Code of Ethics with the voice of the patient engrained throughout the process. This person will work directly with leadership at the franchise level and assist the C&E head in designing innovative and best in class C&E strategies, ensuring excellence in execution, monitoring the TA budget, identifying and resolving upcoming issues.
This role will also need to ensure close collaboration and alignment with Regional and Global Internal Leadership both from a strategic and tactical perspective. This individual will also need to provide strategic advice and support to the business franchise leadership, and coordinate activities/relations for a particular area of the function e.g. media relations within a specific business area. Likely to lead specific programs/campaigns in a country.

Your responsibilities:
• Act as a strategic partner to the TA business and create and support implementation of communications and engagement strategies, with an ecosystem mindset
• Maintains PAG engagement TA related, in alignment with the PE Team
• Responsible for insights-driven integrated disease awareness & activation, media/milestones
• Responsible for leading TA issue management
• Responsible for External Engagement within TAs scope (i.e. corporate campaigns with a TA focus)
• Drive patient and multi-stakeholder engagement activities and build a patient centric reputation for Novartis
• Build appropriate program engagement strategy, ensuring cross-functional alignment, including where relevant budget and resource allocation management. Put in place policies and systems to effectively execute the given strategy
• Coordinate and provide specialist knowledge in your specific therapeutic area of communications.

Minimum Requirements

• Impact and innovation in the execution of the integrated initiatives at the therapeutic area level
• Strong advocacy skills
• Leverage Measurement Framework to assess impact of C&E activities
• Leadership and cross-collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
• Play as strategic communications advisor to our leaders and collaborating with associates across all levels within the organization.
• Master’s degree / University Diploma or equivalent; 10 years’ experience in Communications, health/pharmaceutical experience an asset
• Bilingual: English and French
