External Analytical Operations Manager, Analytical Development (f/m/d), Schaftenau, Austria

Analytical Operations is responsible for GMP-compliant release- and stability testing of the Novartis Biopharmaceuticals pipeline, and is a key contributor to regulatory filings in support of clinical trial and marketing authorization applications.

Expected start date: October 2022
Duration: Permanent contract

Your key responsibilities:
• Overseeing outsourced analytical activities at global external partners.
• Managing forecasting of respective projects, and planning at external partners.
• Covering project specific interactions with external partners in collaboration with the Analytical Sub-Team.
• Providing scientific support for outsourced projects, incl. writing/reviewing technical documentation as well as troubleshooting.
• Supporting Analytical Development in driving strategic outsourcing, and in further supporting relevant outsourcing activities as per scope.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Degree in engineering, management, science or equivalent (BSc., MSc., MBA or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferably in Analytics and/or R&D.
• Experienced in managing portfolio projects (e.g. Analytical Expert) and/or external partners (e.g. External Operations Manager).
• Strong communication and presentations skills.
• Ability to work in global, interdisciplinary teams, as well as on individual tasks.
• Strong planning- and organizational skills, with an financial acumen.
• Fluent in English (oral and written).

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 54.788,30EUR/year (on a full time basis). In most cases, the actual salary will be higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
