The Vice President, US Market Access Complex Therapies will be responsible for setting the market access vision and strategy for assigned products while driving innovation with pricing, contracting, value-based agreements, and channel related strategy and process for the CAR-T and RLT platforms. This individual will also lead the team responsible for setting the market access strategy and executing access marketing plans across the organization for RLT products. This role is responsible for the provision of US access guidance for in-market and pipeline RLT products including the radiopharmaceutical reimbursement landscape, impact assessment and engagement strategies for emerging stakeholders such as radiation benefit managers, RLT LCM planning, and market access competitive assessments for key customer segments within nu-clear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals. The scope of this role includes establishment of access goals from launch through loss of exclusivity (LOE), guidance on clinical development plans, disease area opportunity assessments, and the development and socialization of the annual Market Access perspective on radiopharmaceuticals. The role also leads access strategy/insights/viability for life cycle indications for the RLT platform.

The Vice President, Market Access Complex Therapies will lead the pricing and contracting function for new and in-line CAR-T and RLT products focusing on the full commercialization continuum to develop pricing, contracting and channel strategies for optimal patient access and profitability. This role will be the key decision maker for all pricing and channel decisions for the RLT and CAR-T platforms, This role will develop contracting, value proposition and outcomes based strategies, leading the negotiation and implementation of customer contract/pricing programs with key accounts. It is responsible for creating business solutions and managing the team that negotiates product procurement process directly with customer and meet both external customer and NVS business needs by working cross-functionally with internal executive management while gaining customer insights and business knowledge to effectively drive customer satisfaction and maximize Novartis business.

Major Accountabilities:
• Lead annual US Market Access RLT update to inform brand planning across the RLT organization, including topics such as perspectives on competitive landscape evolution and radiopharmaceutical policy changes that might directly or indirectly impact our current brands or pipeline products; in-corporate short- and long-term access strategies in 3- to 5-year product strategy plans
• Coordinate across Market Access and the broader organization as a single point of contact (SPOC) for RLT market access for local and global product teams as well as BD&L, NIBR, GDD, and other divisions as appropriate, including participation in all relevant asset/product/disease area team activities
• Craft strategies at the Therapeutic Area (TA) and portfolio level for the US Market and liaise with Oncology Market Access teams to define target patient, net price over time, coverage dynamics, market access dynamics, top-down forecasts, and lifecycle planning
• Support maximization of the US RLT pipeline through partnerships on clinical threshold guidance and study design, forecasts to support go/no-go decisions, providing rigorous, repeatable, high-quality input to BD&L modeling, and appropriate communication with US IMLT on opportunities and challenges
• Create product, segment and customer-specific pricing and reimbursement models that optimize patient access, Novartis revenue and channel considerations and identify and quantify risks and opportunities; lead contract negotiations with assigned Accounts
• Analyses to inform organizational understanding of market dynamics, risks and competitor behaviors and impact of business segments – Commercial, Medicare, Part D, Medicaid, hospital, Group Purchasing Organization, Veteran’s Administration and Specialty Pharmacy
• Builds senior level relationships with significant national customers and stakeholders; interfaces with key customer to understand their needs, perspective, and issues while recruiting customer sources to deliver competitive intelligence and customer insights in order to effectively guide and design effective customer strategies

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Healthy Policy or equivalent preferred
• A minimum of 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience, with at least 10 years of people management and development experience in a matrixed environment
• Successful experience building and scaling an organization – including developing the organizational and operational model, structure, vision, and capabilities
• Thorough understanding and knowledge of US healthcare dynamics and the drivers of pharmaceutical value
• Proven ability to navigate complex customers and build relationships across all key stakeholders, including executive management
• Demonstrated prioritization, organizational, and analytical skills as well as the ability to create solutions for complex processes and procedures
• Inspirational leadership with high level of self-awareness and curiosity with focus on empowering others
• Proven results-oriented approach (e.g., fails fast to learn faster) and embodiment of an agile, growth mindset
• In-depth knowledge of patient access, launch excellence, marketing, and business processes.

Our selection process will prioritize US-based associates whose roles may be changing or may be impacted as a result of the Transforming for Growth reorganization. This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position.

This position will be located at the East Hanover site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).
