The DIA organization in US Innovative Medicines is the Novartis engine for achieving best in class Healthcare provider (HCP) experience and transformative digital patient engagement. The Enterprise Analytics and Data Science group within DIA is seeking a highly motivated analytic expert to optimize resource allocation across the commercial organization. This role will utilize marketing mix modeling, multi-touch attribution, and other advanced analytic techniques to identify the cause-and-effect relationships between our investments and market outcomes.

These positions are key member of the IM US DIA teams. In partnership with brand marketing, sales leader-ship, market research, advanced analytics & forecasting, finance, and other key stakeholders, the AD is responsible for using expert analytics to provide meaningful market insights that enable effective, data driven decision-making specific to a brand. This position requires a hands on analytics expertise and the ability to understand the detail of disease portfolio and/or an individual brand, its market dynamics and translate them into actionable insights. The AD will partner with a variety of stakeholders (insight market research, digital project managers, brand marketing, sales, advanced analytics & forecasting, finance) to build business insights and assure the validity and quality of the analyses. The AD must demonstrate autonomy and work independently in close partnership with a team of peers and stakeholders.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support the Director of Commercial Analytics with the specification and execution of analytical pro-jects for a small/medium disease portfolio and/or an individual brand.
• Play an instrumental role in developing comprehensive analytics to address issues pertaining to our customers: patients, physicians, and payers.
• Be proactive in analytics and lead analytics initiatives.
• Lead forward-looking/predictive analytics as well as track brand performance with retrospective pro-jects
• Contribute to the transformation of digital & omni-channel analytics
• Help with bringing analytics expertise in-house.
• Set Performance Expectations for brands
• Monitor Performance to understand & impact market dynamics
• Accelerate Automation presence within analytics and brands
• Communicate data & insights-driven strategies to impact business

“The ideal location for this role is our East Hanover site but remote work may be possible (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position may require up to 20% travel. This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position. ”

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required; an advanced degree in quantitative subject (e.g. statistics, economics, science or mathematics) is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of marketing-related analytic experience is required, experience or interest in data science. Previous Therapeutic Area experience or pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly desirable.
• Demonstrated strong analytical and strategic thinking, must possess excellent communication and presentation skills with the proven record of effective translation of complex analysis to business solutions, strong project management experience, and the ability to synthesize & simplify input from multiple stakeholders in order to provide recommendations that can impact business.
• Must excel in problem-solving, be curious, possess the will to win, and must demonstrate innovative thinking in a matrix organization.
• Experience in coding and transforming data independently. This role, while working as part of a team of analysts, must also demonstrate the ability to work independently with a proactive approach to meet business needs and deadlines.
• Knowledge of machine learning concepts as well as statistical analysis techniques (Supervised & unsupervised learning, regression & classification, e.g. linear/logistic regression, cluster analysis, significance testing, factor analysis, ANCOVA) is required .
• Deep understanding of pharmaceutical sales, marketing data sets is required. Prior experience in medical claims data sets (IMS, SDI, Symphony, Flatiron) a plus, as is prior marketing research experience.
• Familiarity with marketing analytics or a decision sciences function and experience with advanced quantitative methods (e.g. segmentation, predictive modeling).
• Experience with statistical computing and data manipulation is a plus. (i.e. R, Python, SAS, Excel, VBA, Alteryx, SQL) .

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $151,200 and $226,800/per year; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
