Join us today as R2R / Tax Manager where you will be leading the local tax accounting, statutory books, supports reporting activities, external/internal audits and Tax processes within the FSC and represents the NGSC at country level for mentioned processes, enabling the execution of quality services. Ensures accurate reporting of financial information to all users of information in accordance to statutory requirements, Novartis Standards and policies. This role is ensuring the oversight of processes and that systems, documentation, compliance and reporting are in place to deliver quality services, drive improvements for highly effective and efficient end-to-end processes to the Novartis divisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational oversight to provide services at expected levels with a clear customer focus, including handling the exceptions. Ensures productivity, continuous improvements and seamless service.
• Lead collaboration with key stakeholders, including senior level cross-Novartis Local Entities business colleagues, both accounting/tax authorities/auditors, and Novartis Local Entity/Group Financial Reporting and Accounting and Group Tax.
• Manages the local tax accounting, statutory books, supports reporting activities, and external/internal audits within the FSC and for all divisions
• Responsible for certain month-end closing activities (tax related accounts)
• Responsible for Tax audits and to cascade new tax rulings and explain to the business and assess impact.
• Reviews corporate tax returns/computations including income tax, VAT, withholding taxes, payroll tax, fringe benefits tax and documentary stamp tax
• Reviews all local tax reporting/requirements by Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) and business permit requirements and ensure timely payment of business taxes to local government units
• Reviews balance sheet reconciliations of allocated accounts and ensure timely resolution and clean-up of overdue items identified, Transfer Pricing report, tax calculation of month-end financial reporting.
• Resolve tax accounting related issues and disputes, escalate as required or coordinate with various departments to resolve
• Proactively identify potential tax risks and take leadership with appropriate departments for timely resolution

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Certified Public Accountant
• 7 - 10 years of Financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise in Tax in MNC environment.
• Previous experience in managing Financial and Tax Services
• High proven interpersonal, communication & negotiation and skills with curious mind and high motivation to learn
• Strong sense for independence, self-drive, results oriented and proactive.
