The ideal location for this role is our East Hanover site but remote work may be possible (there may be some restrictions based on legal entity). Please note that this role would not provide relocation as a result. If associate is remote, all home office expenses and any travel/lodging to specific East Hanover site for periodic live meetings will be at the employee’s expense. The expectation of working hours and travel (domestic and/or international) will be defined by the hiring manager. This position may require up to 20% travel. This is a US based position. No international relocation will be provided for this position

Then come and join our US Innovative Medicines organization in this newly created role of Executive Director, Data Enablement.

Reporting to VP, Strategic Data Products, this position will be responsible for leading Data Enablement function to support the objectives and ambition of the US IM organization. This includes developing data-enabled strategies for consumerization of data, thus enabling Sales, Marketing and Insights & Analytics to drive desired business outcomes. This role will have the responsibility to ensure that Novartis is operating at scale and driving customer engagement with an appropriate information management, governance, processes and policies that ensure the safe, compliant and ethical use of its data sources either internally or externally.

This leader is responsible to closely partner with broader US IM, IT and third-party vendors. This leader is responsible for the strategic and tactical decision making across the group and is the executive leader to drive the Data Enablement roadmap with a wide cross-section of groups and stakeholders

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Develop and manage long term Data Product and related technology strategy and plan for US IM to support the analytic priorities, business intelligence, sales operations, marketing, digital, and Patient services operations

Manage daily data enablement operations.

Drive continuous improvement, integration / deployment of new capabilities, demand, and budget management with the IT teams

Build & Expand enabling applications / platforms / data products to create a competitive edge in the marketplace, in alignment with the objectives of the organization

Drive end-to-end commercial data processes through the IT landscape and ensuring proper integration between the data warehouse and Novartis ecosystem

Lead a team of functional data owners to establish, maintain and follow a data consumerization and management strategy that is aligned with organization strategy, approved by all relevant stakeholders, communicated across the organization, and reflected in technology and business planning.

Partner with the Commercial leadership, Analytics, IT, and the broader community on the prioritization, sequencing, and investments against a multiyear roadmap for data asset consumerization

Understand with the Commercial leadership, Analytics, IT, and the broader community on the prioritization, sequencing, and investments against a multiyear roadmap for data asset consumerization

Maintain the data consumerization strategy (goals, objectives, priorities, policies, metrics and scope) for all business areas

Manage vendor relationships and participate in vendor strategy and negotiation

Provide direction and support to all change management initiatives and communication, removing obstacles that slow or block the implementation of change

Minimum Requirements

What will you bring to the role

Bachelor’s degree required: B.S. in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering,

A minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical experience in data management, sales operations, commercial data analytics or related experience

8+ years of business analysis and stakeholder management experience

Solid hands-on understanding of sales, Rx, customer engagement, digital data and ability to 'connect the dots' to ensure quality of data in ecosystem

Demonstrated success in leveraging new channels and emerging technology to reach customers and drive business results

Strategy and/or consulting experience preferred

Demonstrated business expertise and knowledge (business acumen) and the ability to consult internally and/or externally

Demonstrated strong skills in oral and written communication, program management

Demonstrated prioritization, organizational, analytical and research skills as well as the ability to conceptualize more complex issues and work on complex processes, procedures or solutions

Demonstrated experience in working with others to achieve organizational objectives including the ability to anticipate and adapt, own and or/work group tactics to support changing business needs
