Job Purpose:
Medical Franchise Head assumes the overall responsibilities of medical strategy, implementation of medical plan, ME engagement and development, post marketing trials and cross function collaboration with development, TCO, marketing, market access and other commercial functions. While in performing the above listed responsibilities, the Medical Franchise Head need to ensure that the medical strategy is in line with overall business strategy, be delivered with high professional academic standard and in compliance with local laws, regulations and NVS policies and SOPs. It is a leadership role in leading a team of Medical Affairs function, including Medical Affairs Managers, Medical Advisors and MSL managers.

Major Accountabilities:
- Lead the team to identify medical opportunities and unmet medical needs, to find out/create the leverage points with medical evidences to transform them into effective medical strategies and initiatives.
- Lead the team to strategically develop medical strategies and work out medical solutions for the issues in post-marketing products differentiation and product positioning
- Lead the team to establish academic platforms and channels with China academic societies and MEs to deliver post-marketing products messages to key stakeholders
- Lead the team to be pro-actively involved in supporting all aspects of post-marketing products through effective cooperation with brand teams. A key role in strategic IDAPS planning process to achieve maximum potential of products.
- Lead the team to develop medical/scientific communication/publication strategies / plans and ensure their well implementation. Ensure strategic alignment with global and local business strategy.
- Lead the team to delivery high quality medical education/training materials for external audience including scientific content of external meetings and internal medical education (training of medical advisors, MSLs..PMs etc.)
- Establish strong working relationships with key stakeholders internally (Development, Marketing, Market Access, Clinical operation) and externally (eg, consultants, advisors, medical thought leaders, professional societies).
- Provide strategic insight into scientific expert development activities, develop and implement ME development plan through participation of NVS and third party trials, education, training, scientific meetings, scientific projects etc.
- Identify and screen appropriate vendors, solicit, evaluate and approve proposals.
- Manage all financial and contractual aspects of assigned projects, including vendor relationships
- Lead direct reporters to recruit qualified people, coach and develop the team to build up effective team and ensure its good performance and qualified result delivering.
- Lead the team to conduct post marketing trials/IITs to obtain the new evidence as the growth engine to leverage post-marketing product’s continuous development in China in compliance with GCP.
• Concept sheets, synopsize, protocol and preparation of other trial initiation documents
• trial approval at the required level (Local, Regional, Global) and review/approval of amendments
• budget preparation, review, approval and tracking, ensure payment is made according to pre-defined payment schedule in the contract
• CSR and publications within planned timeline
• Define IIT Strategies and responsible for oversee and manage the whole process of execution of IIT including contract, payment and publication in alignment with GCP, Local regulations, NVS SOP
• Oversee and manage scientific project including but not limited to animal and in-vitro studies (investigator initiated pre-clinical studies)
- Supervise or responsible for Medical Grants and ensure it is in compliance with NVS policies.

Minimum Requirements

Education: Advanced scientific degree (PhD,PharmD,or MD);
Languages: Excellent oral and written communication skills.

- a minimum of 5 years Hema experience.
- Proficient level of understanding in pharmaceutical business.
- Experience in driving the development of medical strategies / key scientific message platforms without supervision.
- Broad experience in planning and executing advisory boards, clinical trials, symposia, medical education materials and scientific posters/abstracts.
- Ability to provide strategic insight into scientific expert development activities, publication planning plus developing medical education materials and programs that support product launches in oncology.
- People management experience
- Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ability to travel around 20% of time.
