As a Senior Occupational Toxicologist – HSE (m/f/d) you will be responsible for support with the health hazard assessment and calculation of safe health based exposure limits such as Occupational Exposure Levels (OEL) and Permitted Daily Exposures (PDE) for occupational health and quality assurance purposes. This role also provides expertise on REACH and REACH-like programs to identify, guide and execute against requirements to achieve global compliance.

Your key responsibilities:
- To assist in the processes for Health Hazard Assessment for the whole life cycle, including close collaboration and planning with HSE Product Stewardship colleagues
- Ensures appropriate business relevant determination of OELs and PDEs based on the most recent scientific evidence and compilation of relevant documents for Novartis, which are used for health hazard assessment.
- Ensure correct upload into different databases (HHA catalog, KSO) used for internal and external communication
- Assists in the HSE study management program as scientific adviser and drives scientific improvements in the HSE testing.
- Ensures that key customers are well aware about Novartis Health Hazard Assessment process and data development/acquisition and entry as well as data assessment follow defined rules and ensure a high quality standard, meeting best practices in scientific standards and compliance with rules, laws and regulations as well as Novartis corporate citizenship guidelines
- Leads or supports planning activities and execution of agreed actions with impacted business units to ensure compliance for REACH and REACH-like laws and regulations.
- Attend science (toxicology) related meetings/workshops and maintain the occupational toxicology expertise

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
- University degree (MS, PH.D. DVM, ...) in natural sciences, (e.g.pharmaceutical science), candidates in the field of toxicology are preferred.
- 6-8 years of overall relevant work experience, ideally at multi-national organizations, with knowledge and work experience (e.g. HSE, Toxicology, Preclinical Safety, Regulatory Toxicology).
- Fluency (speaking and writing) in English required.
- Scientific training in toxicology / eco-toxicology. Skills in computational toxicology and ERT certificate are advantage.
