The O2C Cash Application Specialist is responsible for the process of applying payments to a customer’s account in a timely and accurate manner, and other activities to maintain the customer’s account
Works collaboratively to ensure unallocated and unapplied cash payments are resolved.

Your responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Work with direct managers to support financial activities, decision making and general projects. Provide timely, proactive support on the general ledger. Maintain accurate and timely fixed asset information in the fixed asset register including assets under construction and depreciation calculations.
• Prepare analysis or reporting with particular emphasis on accuracy, compliance and timeliness of data provided (i.e.: reports on profit and loss activity).
• Provide all data needed for internal (Financial Consolidation and Reporting System) and external reporting (including statutory accounts, national statistics and tax information) in a timely and accurate manner.
• Provides ‘first line support’ on SAP issues including fixed assets, cash and general ledger. Contribute to FRA projects at country or BU level.
• Reporting of technical complaints / adverse events / special case scenarios related to Novartis products within 24 hours of receipt. Distribution of marketing samples (where applicable)
• Performs posting of unapplied daily bank statements accurately. Maintains accurate accounts Provides services at expected levels with a clear customer service and escalates exceptions Interacts proactively with customers and other stakeholders to resolve unapplied and unallocated cash lines and to ensure appropriate accounting
• Increases process efficiency and quality by continuous improvement and challenging the status quo Compliance. Ensures all processes, policies and procedures are clearly defined, fully documented and adhered to
• Ensures compliance with Novartis Accounting Manual (NAM), Novartis Financial Controls Manual (NFCM) and regulatory requirements. Ensures application of agreed Novartis control procedures and actively support to deliver SOX certification

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Education: (minimum/desirable)
• Certified Finance/Accounting specialist or similar degree Languages: Experience: English
• 6+ years of financial experience, with good functional expertise
• SAP knowledge
• Project management exposure advantageous
• Excellent communication skills
