The Vice-President of Data, Insights and Analytics will continue the build, management and leadership of the teams responsible for developing a high-impact data, analytics and insights organization that enables the Innovative Medicines US Novartis to make real-time business decisions and strategic shifts for profitable growth.

This is a remote position. Candidate must ideally be based within region highlighted in posting or within a reasonable commuting weekly or monthly distance. Ability to travel to drive or fly as required to the site is is required. No relocation available.

This leader must be effective at finding and applying impactful customer insights by leveraging agile behavioral research methods and advanced data analysis, including AI and synthesis. This leader will guide their team to build actionable business strategies to foster customer (HCP and patient) centricity and deep in-sight skills across syndicated, custom, traditional, digital, and emerging methodologies, and will actively partner with Finance and Technology Transformation (TT) leadership to deliver solutions that deliver business outcomes. This person will work closely with Product General Managers, Marketers, Sales and cross-functional leaders to understand their business context and shape opportunities, ensuring plans are grounded in data-driven insights and meet the current and future needs of the organization.

The role reports to the Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer, Innovative Medicines US, and acts as a key thought leader as our organization shifts to a more customer-focused, integrated ecosystem approach and is critical to our transformation.

What will you be responsible for (non-exhaustive list)
In addition to ensuring plans are grounded in data-driven insights, this leader will define a compelling future state of the organization that elevates each of the following areas:

People & Leadership : Provide leadership, expertise, and future vision to support and enhance customer insights capabilities and identifying the most critical end-to-end customer opportunities to improve business performance. In close partnership and collaboration with cross-functional teams across Novartis, this role will at-tract, develop, retain, and lead an expert team of internal and external partners that will execute the priorities of the function.

Our talented teams of insights and analytics professionals will need clarity and support as they master a more integrated work environment that requires new solutions and new ways of working. Identifying next-level leaders and deploying talent appropriately is critical to developing a strong organizational foundation.

Integrated Insights Solutions : A refined and robust portfolio of research methods anchored in behavioral science, AI and machine learning needs to connect to comprehensive analytic solutions to create a 360-view of our customers and markets, resulting in impactful insights that lead to clear business success.

Enablement : In order for teams across the organization to access and leverage the power of insights and analytics, this leader must define and de-liver an actionable strategy to implement DIY research tools and self-service dashboards and resources. We are looking to create clarity and confidence across our teams that inspires them to take action from a strong base of customer understanding.

Operational : - Manage the Integrated Insights, Enterprise Analytics, Data Strategy & Products and Capabilities and Best Practices teams to execute analytic and insights initiatives.

- Design, build, execute functional capabilities including scope, current state assessment, tools/process recommendations, governance, operating model, and real-time measurement framework.

- Identify and implement behavioral research methods that enable the team to identify, study, and determine drivers of desired/undesired consumer behaviors which impact Novartis’ products and services.

- Establish and run the following core capabilities in the areas of Strategy, Innovation, Adoption & Utilization, Decision Management & Issue Resolution, Business Planning, Planning Service Delivery, Performance & Continuous Improvement etc...

Minimum Requirements

What You’ll Bring to the Role:
• 12+ years of Data, Analytics & Insights leadership experience (Pharma/Life Sciences experience is a plus.
• 10+ years of People Management/Leadership experience managing large multi-functional teams (50+) in a complex matrix environment is preferred.
• A Data, Analytics & Insights background is required and prior experience in Sales and Marketing management is preferred.
• Commercial leader with a substantive industry track record including prior experience and demonstrated success in commercial operations roles.
• Comprehensive understanding of the industry's complex legal and regulatory requirements, best practices in pharmaceutical marketing, and of the dynamics driving the global healthcare environment, is essential.
• Strong analytical skills with experience and background in Data Management/Governance and Business Intelligence
• Demonstrated proficiency in work force planning and leading change management initiatives
• Ability to foster cross-functional, cross-geographies and cross-divisional alignment of key stakeholders to create a disciplined, ambitious, and collaborative, global, commercial operating platform.
• Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
• Strong organization skills, detail oriented and customer focused
