You will function as the Engineering lead for automation systems, interfaces, and equipment. This includes oversight of the automation systems across the facility (building/process/laboratory). You will also ensure the site's compliance with internal GMPs, CSV, and external regulatory requirements.

1. Oversee the automation systems at the site including building management systems (BMS), room monitoring systems (RMS), process, and laboratory equipment automation.

2. Manage the overall automation asset care strategy for the site including upgrades, maintenance contracts, and changes.

3. Oversee, plan, develop, and execute automation projects from start-up to completion.

4. Support and execute automation qualification, plus, resolve all automation-related issues.

5. Update and develop User Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, Design Specifications, Operation, and Maintenance for the new and existing control systems.

6. Devise new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard automation technical principles.

7. Work closely with various functions, including manufacturing, engineering, utility operations, maintenance, quality assurance, and qualification to manage a diverse portfolio of projects.

8. Initiate and execute change control activities for automation systems. Serve as System/Application owner for automation systems working with IT on server, network, and infrastructure. Provide technical support to operations and support personnel.

9. Own and close corrective actions related to the automation systems.

Minimum Requirements

What you'll bring to the role.

• Bachelor's degree is required; subject area in Engineering is preferred

• 3+ years’ experience with automation systems & experienced in a GMP-regulated environment (pharmaceutical preferable)
• Extended interdisciplinary technical knowledge
• Good working knowledge of GMPs in pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities and major utilities
• Experience with automation systems (Continuum, Siemens, DeltaV, PLCs, etc.); knowledge of IT infrastructure/networks related to automation systems
• Experience in focusing on a variety of issues and driving results
• Experience interacting with various organizational levels and fostering multi-functional and cross-cultural teamwork
• Proven knowledge of P&ID and loop diagram standards, temperature, pressure, flow, weight, humidity, and other instrumentation
• Knowledge of industry standards 21 CFR Part 11, Validation, and GAMP
• Experience working in controlled environments requiring special gowning is preferred

• Strong business communication skills
• Capable to work independently with minimal direction
• Self-directed and able to manage competing priorities
• Adept at working well with others in a team environment
