Automation Engineer BioFuture (Manufacturing System Expert) (f/m/d), NTO, Schaftenau, Austria

As member of the new formed Automation Plant 1 team, you are working with us in our innovative BioFuture Plant in order to manufacture drug substances faster and more cost-efficient.

Your key responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Support the implementation and administration of a manufacturing execution system (MES) and provide technical expertise with knowledge across Operations Management Systems (OMS / Emerson Syncade MES) as an active member of the BioFuture program team. Enable strong interaction between partners in automation development and plant 1 wihin a sophisticated production environment.
• Accountable for all OMS elements of the Novartis BioFuture Program by developing, establishing, maintaining and continuously enhancing Program standards
•·Handle the development of interfaces to other site systems, e.g. SAP, DCS and Laboratory Systems
• Review and update automation source documentation, e.g. user requirements (URS), design documents, manufacturing procedures (technical instructions), or functional and testing specifications on how to setup, run and dismantle Single Use and standard Biotechnology Process Equipment.
Review and update automation concept and strategy documents, e.g.. technical guidance documents and manuals
• Define and improve business processes for integration into site operations and lead future improvement initiatives
• Support automation knowledge exchanges, system governance meetings and manage issues, work-around and fixes identified
• Contribute to establish the new automation unit within a future-oriented and highly automated new production facility by supporting knowledge transfer and through transfer the initiative from a project status to a stable operational mode.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Education: Bachelor or Master degree in the field of Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent
• Experience: min. 10 years of relevant technical and cross-cultural experience in the pharmaceutical industry, including plant Manufacturing experience.
• Extended technical knowledge of automation systems within a pharma environment.
• Proven experience in implementation and qualification of a manufacturing execution system, preferably in the context of a large-scale biotechnology project. Good manufacturing practice, industry and regulatory standards and equipment qualification. In addition, computerized system validation knowledge is an asset.
• Coding level of experience with Emerson Syncade OMS implementation is essential.
• Experience with Delta V DCS (Emerson) is beneficial.
• Languages: Proficient in English, German is an advantage
• Further Skills: Great teammate with good leadership skills and a positive demeanor and ability to empower others
• Proficiencies: Results driven, flexible to achieve the desired outcome. Furthermore, technical writing skills

In accordance with Austrian law, we are obliged to disclose the minimum salary as stated in the collective bargaining agreement. For this position the minimum salary is € 66.626,88/year (on a full time basis). The actual salary will be significantly higher, as we strive to maintain a competitive position in the market and consider your previous experience, qualifications and individual competencies.
