More than 30 Million! Tablets and Capsules every year are supplied to clinical studies and support technical development of innovative oral products at Novartis

The Senior Expert Drug Supply leads and manages all material planning activities for Technical Research & Development (TRD) excipients. Acts as single point of contact for TRD customers and external suppliers, including Novartis Technical Operations (NTO), coordinating demand and supply, including project specific needs and troubleshooting. As Process owner of excipient planning, provides training to involved users, defines, collects and communicates process metrics and and monitors overall process performance.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to :
• Single Point of contact for all customers and suppliers of excipients related to TRD, including ownership for Excipient planning process, training and management of special requests or troubleshooting.
• Collects TRD excipient independent demand, monitors available stock and its expiry dates, communicates net requirements to NTO planner. Manages disposal of expired batches as needed. Initiates and monitors batch retesting if required.
• Ensures that planning relevant material attributes are maintained appropriately in relevant planning systems
• Acts as coordinator between TRD customers and NTO to ensure efficient issue resolution and alignment, as required. Monitors adherence to valid SLA.
• Raises purchase requisitions for TRD owned excipients in NTO SAP P75 system to external supplier, track timely receipt, testing and release in close coordination with NTO logistics and QC/QA.
• Deputizes Excipient Demand Coordinator for order management related activities and performing various transactional.
• Acts as SAP super user for procurement topics
• Organizes and performs training about excipient supply process for TRD newcomers.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Master’s degree in science or equivalent
• Min. 10 years of successful industry experience in the development of pharmaceutical formulations. Ideally with strong Supply chain and/or material planning and master data experience (SAP expert)
• Fluent in English and German (oral and written)
• Interdisciplinary thinking and interest in collaboration with other functions.
• Successfully demonstrated track record of creativity and problem solving in projects.
• Excellent communication skills, organizational, planning and negotiation skills.
