The Biotherapeutics group at NIBR-SD is seeking a highly motivated scientist with tissue culture and antibody skills. This is a great opportunity to join a group dedicated to discovering and optimizing novel protein and antibody therapeutics, working as part of multidisciplinary drug discovery teams in a variety of disease areas.

Your responsibilities:
•Maintain, monitor, and expand critical cell lines for therapeutic discovery across multiple projects, including media prep – sterile technique is a must
•Conduct protein and antibody characterization experiments such as FACS, ELISA, and Western blot
•Contribute to analysis of results, suggest new experiments, and clearly communicate current progress to the project team(s)
•Work effectively as a member of multiple teams to accomplish shared project goals
•Database management of proteins and cell lines
•Contemporaneous and accurate documentation of experiments

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
•BS/MS degree in biology, biochemistry, molecular biology, or related discipline with experience in academic or industry laboratories
•Attention to detail, ability to communicate effectively, and an eagerness to learn new things
•Ability to carry out experiments under minimal supervision, and to analyze, interpret, and communicate progress and data to colleagues
Desirable:
•Proficiency in any of the following: flow cytometry, cell culture, cell line generation, cell-based assays
•Working knowledge of protein expression and purification
•Experience with antibody generation and/or characterization
•Ability to analyze experiments in related software such as Microsoft Excel; FlowJo; Octet
