300+ curious minds! That’s the number of scientists in the NIBR Biologics Center who daily work in our labs to make a difference in patients’ lives. We are seeking a motivated and experienced senior scientist in automation.

We would also consider applications at a Research Scientist level with suitable automation experience for this position.

As a senior/research scientist in the automation team inside the antibody discovery group you develop, troubleshoot, validate and run high throughput assays on all automated systems for antibody discovery screening campaigns and molecular biology workflows. In addition, this role requires hands on experience of automated bioinformatics analysis tools and programming languages.

Your responsibilities:
• Plan, run and troubleshoot processes on automated systems
• Assume ownership of assigned automated systems for maintenance, repairs and readiness state in compliance with internal regulations
• Analyse data generated on automated systems using KNIME and capture generated information in data management solution
• Create or modify data analysis workflows for effective flow and data management
• Assume ownership and manage projects with internal customers

Minimum Requirements

What you will bring to the role:
• Master’s degree in Biology, Biochemistry or Engineering or equivalent experience in industry
• 5+ years’ experience in laboratory automation, preferably in a biotherapeutics / antibody discovery environment
• Experience with biochemical assay formats such as ELISA
• Experience with molecular biology work such as plasmid purification
• Proven track record in developing processes on Tecan or Beckman- Coulter or other liquid handling platforms including scheduling software (SAMI, Evoware Plus)
• Desirable: hands- on experience with data management system such as Genedata Biologics
• Hands- on experience with data analytics platform or software such as KNIME or Spotfire
• Working knowledge and high motivation to use at least one of the following: R, Python, Visual Basic script or Java script
