$500 million! That’s the savings Sandoz has provided in just two years to the US healthcare system as a result of the successful adoption of one of our oncology supportive care biosimilar into clinical practice. Sandoz has eight biosimilar approved globally – including four in the US – and more than ten in the pipe-line. Biosimilar may enable more patients to access advanced biologic medicines earlier, and Sandoz has proven that biosimilar offer significant savings for overburdened health systems. The Executive Director, Business Development & Licensing and Transactions will enhance top line revenue growth and profitability for the Company through researching, structuring, negotiating, obtaining approval, closing, and managing company or product acquisition and/or licensing deals targeted for the US market.

The position reports to the Vice President, BD&L, Alliance Mgmt., Portfolio, Strategy and Analytics and is based in Princeton, NJ. This position is expected to be an enterprise wide leader.

Major Accountabilities
• Identify, negotiate and close acquisition (bolt-on or product) and/or opportunistic licensing deals within the Generic, OTC, Rx and Biosimilars space.
• Manage the opportunity evaluation process by leading cross functional teams with Port-folio, Technical development, Finance, IP/Legal, Regulatory and Marketing
• Prepare business case and create various management approval decks for acquisition cases.
• Negotiate contracts and amendments and play a pivotal role with US legal team in concluding and managing contracts to execution.
• Coordinate contract input from other functional areas e.g. Quality, SCM, Sales, etc.
• Create presentations on acquisition opportunities for U.S. Senior Management review and approval.
• Manage and lead multiple, complex projects with limited supervision.
• Interface with Global Business Development & Licensing on global initiatives as necessary to provide support and represent US views.

This position will be located at the Princeton site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA experience is preferred
• 15 years of Generic Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred, with proven record of executed M&A deals.
• Experience search and evaluation preferred
• Strong connection within the Investment Bankers net-work
• Experience should encompass more than one functional area (e.g. product development, regulatory affairs, product management, marketing, business development, finance, investment banking, consulting etc).
• Understand the basics of pharmaceutical forecasting and competitive dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry
• Understand the basics of financial analysis and product P&L modeling
• Negotiate commitments and timelines from internal and external parties
