In this laboratory-based Senior Scientist role, you will apply your hands-on expertise performing bacterial and mammalian protein expression, purification and subsequent physicochemical characterization. You will work with teams of discovery scientists to produce protein constructs supporting biologic drug discovery programs as they progress through the research and development pipeline. Additionally, you will contribute to new technology platform evaluations to improve support for challenging new therapeutic modalities.

Your main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Implement and maintain highly efficient protein production pipelines, including the expression, purification and characterization of constructs at various scales. Experience with laboratory automation is highly desirable
• Deliver high quality protein samples within defined timelines to address projects’ current needs
• Effect the collection and documentation of all required characterization data and author reports and SOPs as required
• Represent the protein production function on project teams and present results, data interpretation, timelines etc. at project team meetings
• Interface with the development organization to affect the effective transfer of advanced candidates

Minimum Requirements

What you bring to the role:

• BS or MS. in biochemistry or related field with minimum 3 years of relevant lab experience in a pharmaceutical, CRO or related industry
• Hands-on experience with the production, purification and analytical characterization of protein constructs, with a working knowledge of various instrumentation platforms
• Agility and willingness to learn and implement new physicochemical characterization techniques to support the evolving portfolio. A working knowledge of LC/MS/MS-based protein analysis methodologies is highly desirable
• Experience managing multiple projects with competing priorities, excellent planning, organization, and time management skills including the ability to support and prioritize multiple projects, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
• Strong engagement, interpersonal communication skills, presentation skills and ability to thrive in a dynamic matrixed working environment
