The Associate Director, Retail Rebates will be responsible for overseeing the rebates operations team of 10 -12 associates. The Rebates department is responsible for timely and accurate Administration of Payments to Wholesalers, Distributors, Retailers, GPOs (Group Purchasing Organizations) and other healthcare facilities, as appropriate.

The role also partners with multiple internal/external departments (including Contracts, Pricing, GTN, Sales, Finance Service Center, and external customers) to ensure compliant processing in the research, documentation, and payment of rebates and admin fees; resolve customer disputes/deductions; review and recommend contract language as relevant.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Responsibilities:
• Ensuring timely prioritization and compliant adjudication of rebates invoices, by managing day-to-day issues and providing guidance to the teams, escalating issues as necessary, and reviewing and approving payments
• Manage relationship between chargebacks team and shared service membership team
• Review and track status of open deductions through consolidated monthly reporting across all Revenue Finance groups, and updates by teams in SAP Receivables Management platform
• Communicate and partner with both internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of customer claims, from claim receipt, dispute resolution, and collection efforts
• Leading new systems implementation for rebates
• Reviews and provides contract language feedback on new terms, and proposes contract language to protect financial interests of company
• Develops and provides reporting metrics to team and senior management on various KPIs
• Promotes employee development, and finds and encourages process improvement initiatives via BOTs, new IT platforms (ie Qliksense, Alteryx), and improved processes
• Participate/contribute to special projects as needed.

Education:
 Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance or related

Experience:
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, and intermediate knowledge of mainframe systems
• Excellent written and oral communication skills to interact with all levels of customers and management
• Excellent analytical skills are necessary to review contracts, research and interpret customer claims, and provide documentation supporting payment to customer.
• Cross-functional leadership skills with demonstrated ability to interact and lead at all levels of an organization.
• Important proficiencies are teamwork, problem solving, innovation, planning and organizing, attention to detail, leadership and customer focus.
• Intermediate project management skills.
• Highly motivated self-starter with a willingness to assume responsibility, take ownership for their work and intelligently challenge the status quo
Desirable requirements:
• 8+ years’ experience in financial analysis and/or customer payments preferred
• Minimum of 8 years pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
• Previous generics experience a plus; understanding of industry standard invoice-related and/or contractual-related customer payments.
• Understanding of healthcare industry marketing and sales concepts and practices.
• Experience with new IT platforms (ie Qliksense, Alteryx)
