Job Description

400! This is the number of associates in Global Analytical R&D, across 4 countries, working tirelessly on innovative and patient centric medicines. As part of this group, you design, plan and/or perform scientific/technical studies. By bridging the analytical science to the clinical performance you will drive the transformation of our molecules into medicines that improve and extend patient’s lives.

The position is based in the Genome Valley, Hyderabad, within the Technical Research and Development Organization (TRD) of Global Drug Development (GDD).

Leads the design & implementation of continuous improvement projects and initiatives, focusing on end to end Business processes tools and systems in close collaboration with various teams at ARD and relevant business partners wherever applicable by facilitating implementation of best practices and standardization.

Major Accountabilities:

• Identifies process deficiencies or opportunities for improvement, evaluates process performance through performance and quality indicators, proactively collecting end-user feedback
• Evaluates the performance of current processes and re-engineers (if required) processes using Business process modelling tools, process mining, six sigma, lean excellence etc., to increase the efficiency of Analytical Operations, through design of cost-effective strategies (e.g., changes in policies, procedures, and the application of enabling technology).
• Establish new or leverage existing data feeds and information channels to set-up pro-active approaches focusing on process excellence.
• Collaborate with teams within ARD and enabling functions to ensure new and emerging process, technology and data needs are identified, adapted in requirements, and implemented for assigned projects. Identify solutions through structured ideation approaches, including rapid prototyping.
• Liaise with internal Novartis IT and external system vendors on topics related to system performance, upgrades and planning.
• Optimize various processes by coordinating various workshops along with business operations, IT and SMEs.
• Represent ARD at NCE / TRD CI workstream to capture needs of process optimization.

Minimum Requirements

• Post Graduate in Pharmaceutical Sciences or related field with 10+ years’ experience.
• Extensive experience in managing multi-functional Projects, Programs & change Management with internal and external stake holders. Experience in Business Process Design, Documentation & Governance.
Shown experience with Design thinking and/or Agile delivery.
• Preferred Sector experience: Management consulting, Outsourcing, Post-merger integration, Technology, Manufacturing, Financial Services, Pharma / Biosciences background.
• Proven analytical, process-oriented and data driven mindset. Proven self-starter with experience in initiating and ensuring delivery of geographically and functionally diverse teams.
• Experience on large scale business process re- engineering project(s) performing analysis, process design/reengineering, development, integration, and implementation of system improvements.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, negotiation and problem solving, consulting/facilitation skills.
• Strong organizational awareness (e.g. interrelationship of departments, business priorities), including significant experience working cross-functionally and in global and matrix teams.
