Job Description
300! That’s approximately the number of portfolio projects that the Preclinical Safety (PCS) department is involved in per year! By conducting more relevant and predictable drug discovery that can yield new and better medicines for patients, Novartis Institutes for BioMedical Research is redefining drug discovery in the post-genomic era. The Mechanistic and Predictive Safety group within PCS is committed to develop in vitro models that more accurately predict drug-induced organ toxicity and its translatability from pre-clinical species (rat, dog, monkey) to human. We are seeking a highly motivated MSc student for an internship to support these efforts.
Your key responsibilities
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Support the group efforts in developing and characterizing complex cellular models with cells of preclinical species and human origin
• Perform in vitro assays aimed at assessing organ physiology and response to toxic drugs
• Collaborating with groups across NIBR with complex cellular model expertise
• Presenting results at internal meetings
