Your business acumen and communications mastery will help the world understand what these medicines do, why they matter, and how Novartis is striving to reimagine medicine.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Establish, develop and coordinate communication plans in-line with CPO and corporate strategic goals, and desired market position for identified therapies/ brands.
•Work closely with the brand teams to drive performance through insight-driven communications strategies and targeted content for omni-channel communications activities (traditional, social and digital channels) with a focus on strategic priority brands & disease areas;
•Manage agencies and budgets, track progress, ensure deadlines are met, and ensure quality and compliance for regional level initiatives and establish mechanisms to measure effectiveness and business impact of communications.
•Enable best practice sharing for brand communications and advocacy; Coach and provide consultancy in aspects of communications programs to local teams and ensure cascade of global brand and social media programs to the franchisees.
•Collaborate with Public Affairs, Commercial and Market Access to contribute to policy shaping initiatives and provide counsel to the Franchise teams to ensure compliant patient engagement and patient advocacy activities, including patient support programs.
•Disseminate information to relevant public through appropriate use of the media and increase positive awareness of Novartis, its mission and its public service efforts.
•Help create and execute innovative strategies towards enhancing awareness of public and healthcare professionals as part of market development and category expansion initiatives.
•Ensure consistency of Novartis brand and market position in external communications, by ensuring alignment at the Business Franchise, Business Unit and brand levels especially on social media.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:

•Minimum 12 years professional experience in a media relations or communications role in a major corporation, trade association or public relations agency. Demonstrated ability to influence high-level media; and public health policy.
•Experience in the pharmaceutical industry, brand PR, including excellent understanding of the healthcare space
•Fluency in English, with strong verbal and writing skills. Regional language skills are appreciated
•University degree in communications, business or science
•Effective stakeholder relationship management – proven track record to build trust in stakeholders and influence decision-making. Enterprise attitude: champion the end-to-end approach.
•Patient acumen and understanding of the patient drivers/ Consumer insights and behavior understanding. Understanding of health care system dynamics. Business acumen and understanding of medicines lifecycle, a deep knowledge of clinical development.
