Purpose of the role:
The Global Head Bio Supply Strategy & Manufacturing Alliance will develop and maintain collaboration between Novartis Technical Operations (NTO) and the Sandoz Biopharmaceuticals Business Unit (Bio BU) to maximize the full potential of this strategic partnership and ensure Sandoz business needs are fully met mid and long term. The role will provide a Sandoz biopharmaceutical focus and ‘Single Point of Contact’ for NTO by ensuring alignment of NTO execution with the strategies and priorities of the Bio BU, including ongoing and planned Sandoz strategic review activities.

Your key responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

1. Independently manages alignment and coordination of the partnership between Sandoz Biopharma and NTO on mid and long-term aspects of the collaboration (i.e. not in scope are: operational S&OP matters, near term network product allocation & demand plans)
• Ensures alignment of Bio BU business strategy with Sandoz NTO brownfield site execution
• Manages strategic governance framework and assures full transparency on upcoming project milestones, risks and tracking of mitigating actions or escalations
• Contributes to the Sandoz MSA for NTO Bio-manufacturing
• Aligns ongoing updated assumptions on Bio NTO network into Sandoz business and financial planning processes
• Foster a culture of high performance and trust
2. Drives timely decision making on future Bio Network Manufacturing strategy in line with the Bio Portfolio strategy and Sandoz Strategic Review needs
• Business case for greenfield vs. brownfield expansion vs. CMO network designs
• Contribute to design for a potential permanent Sandoz Bio Platform structure and FTE resource plan
3. Maintains oversight on external market and competitor manufacturing network trends to inform Sandoz Bio Network strategy
• Ensures close alignment of the various stakeholders within Bio (Finance, Commercial, Strategy-Portfolio, IP) and Sandoz (STO, Strategic Review Committee)
• Regularly reviews alliance health check by evaluating KPIs on a regular basis, tracks project delivery against agreed targets and milestones, identifies gaps and should issues arise engages with Bio BU and NTO to perform root cause investigations to identify preventive and corrective actions, shares lessons learnt
• Prepares briefings and communication for senior management (BEC, SEC) to report on the status of the alliance, communicates the strategy to relevant functions across technical disciplines, ensures high quality communication and project information flow to/from NTO in preparation for management boards
• Searches and implements innovative ways to develop the interface between Bio and NTO in line with our cultural and digital strategy

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• Scientific academic degree in Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Engineering and alike
• Experience in complex matrix environments
• Experience in manufacturing and bio-development
• Experience in matrix management for bridging stakeholders (business, scientific, technical)
• Strong results-driven leadership style
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
