Job Purpose:
The Portfolio and Strategy Lead is a critical role for ensuring the strategy, portfolio management and effective operations of the assigned line function leadership team and a key leader and coordinator of internal operations and strategic projects. The PSL will also provide portfolio and strategy support to enhance TM China’s contribution in accelerating China GDD’s NDA approval, as well as TM global PoC study execution.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
· Provides strategic input and insight to the line function to implement the vision of the function. Drive TM China portfolio assessment at each Disease Area Teams, serve as a core member and Secretary of China Early Portfolio Review Committee; collaborate with NIBR DA and GDD in the process.
· Represent TM China jointly with TME at relevant decision boards (e.g. DADBs), communicate China’s prioritized portfolio to TMLTs, line function LTs, GDD DLT, if needed.
· Manage TM China portfolio according to unmet medical needs, timelines, budget and quality standards.Coordinate across TM China functions and with global teams for any portfolio challenges. Liaison with local SMEs to proactively provide local knowhow to project team for studies with China participation and address concerns if needed.
· Drive external collaborations with top hospitals and institutes that strategic relationships have been or will be built in China/Asia
· The role will also work closely with the Global Head of Strategy and Operations in Translational Medicine to align on global TM strategies and goals.
· Bridge TM China and TM functions by aligning priorities, portfolio, and resources. Drives operational excellence through oversight of internal department operations (including travel), organizing and coordinating the strategy associated with resource and headcount planning in cooperation with TM Operations and line function global head.
· Define and lead TM relevant internal communication between Shanghai and Global TM via TM Strategy and Operations (e.g. Town halls, newsletters, line function updates, etc.)
· Leads and coordinates the line function global objective setting. Works with the LT to define, implement and track line function global metrics consistent with the strategy. Partners with relevant groups, e.g. DAs, Program Office, Finance, HR, NLT, etc to oversee and monitor performance against agreed goals for the line function

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
· MD/PhD/PharmD in life sciences or pharmaceutical sciences, fluent oral and written English and Chinese
· At least 5 years of experiences in clinical project/portfolio management in pharmaceutical/biotech company
· Excellent knowledge of drug development process; Recognized for understanding of China requirements for drug development
· Experienced in business planning and operational excellence; Excellent written and verbal communication skills with successful presentation capabilities
· Excellent team work in a multidisciplinary environment
· Leadership in matrix organization
