Analytical Sciences and Imaging (ASI), a global platform group at NIBR, is looking for a Scientist with experience in protein mass spectrometry to join our research team in Cambridge, MA to contribute to innovative therapeutic platforms including gene and radioligand therapies. In this role, you will be developing innovative workflows and interpretation of disease biology using mass spectrometry of biomolecules. We are dedicated to unleashing the power of molecular profiling to build cutting-edge technology that will transform the lives of millions of patients.

What you’ll be doing:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Execute experiments and data analysis in interdisciplinary drug discovery team. Utilize resulting data to move projects along the drug discovery process.
• Work collaboratively on projects related to the development of new modalities across multiple disease areas using novel chemical biology applications and gene therapies with focus on disease target identification/validation, compound mode of actions as well as translational biomarkers.
• Work in ASI matrix environment to translate scientific questions to studies that address project’s scientific inquiries.
• Proactively communicate with all partners and share knowledge and learning to guide drug discovery teams.

Minimum Requirements

What you’ll bring to the role:
• B.S./B.A. Biology, Biochemistry, or Chemical Biology, with 0+ years of experience working in a Biology or Chemistry laboratory.
• Knowledge of low flow or nanoLC-MS based protein analytics to address life sciences or drug discovery questions, protein characterizations, protein-protein interactions, and targeted protein quantitation.
• Familiarity in operating, maintaining and troubleshooting LC-MS equipment as well as other instrumentation used in protein analytics.
• Ability to translate biologist’s scientific questions into analytical strategies and techniques that generate project impact.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work in a collaborative, matrix environment and to build partnerships across project teams.

• Experience in proteomics
• Experience with cell/tissue-based sample preparation and lab automation for mass spec analysis including antibody-based enrichment methods.
• Knowledge of biostatistics and how to apply within the area of drug discovery
