Job Description

GDO Clinical Analytics is a diverse team of data scientists and business leads providing analytics and insights solutions to enable faster and more efficient drug development. We are the bridge that turns great science into great medicines. Our focus on advanced technology and data analytics allows us to make informed decisions, potentially resulting in new, life-changing therapies for patients around the world. We are embedded in all GDO projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to generate insights from data exploration and visualization, which in turn helps the respective teams plan clinical development programs, execute them efficiently and make sound decisions and predictions based on data.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Innovate in one or multiple business verticals by transforming the way to solve a problem using Data Science and Artificial Intelligence: design, develop and deliver various data science based insights, outcomes and innovation (using mathematics, computer science, statistics, engineering, management science, technology, economics, etc.) and create “proof of concepts & blueprints” to drive faster, timely, highly precise, workable and proactive decision making based on data based insights and science and shape strategic glide path of the company
• Collaborates with globally dispersed internal stakeholders, external partners and Institutions and cross-functional teams to solve critical business problems, drive operational efficiencies and innovative approaches, and deliver successfully on high visibility strategic initiatives
• Project manages critical initiatives: plans proactively, anticipates and actively manages change, sets stakeholder expectations as required, identifies operational risks and independently drives issues to resolution, balances multiple priorities and minimizes surprise escalations
• Provides training, guidance or directions for colleagues without having formal reporting line.
• Independently identifies research articles and reproduce/apply methodology to Novartis business problems
• Provides agile consulting, guidance and non-standard exploratory analysis for unplanned urgent problem. Acts as an evangelist and catalyst for innovation in Data Science and AI
• Publishes in peer reviewed journals, helps organizing sessions at external professional conferences and contributes to cross-industry work streams in external relevant working group. May develop automation for repeatedly refreshing analysis and generating insights
• May proactively evaluate the need of technology and novel scientific software, visualization tools and new approaches to computation to increase efficiency and quality of the Novartis data sciences practices. May lead a small team within the setup, if such supervision does not represent the primary responsibility of the job.

Minimum Requirements

• 8-12 years of relevant experience in Data Science and Analytics
• Experience with visualization software / tools to create Dynamic Dashboards using Tableau/Qlik Sense/ Power BI/ R Shiny(3+ Years)
• Proficiency with relational databases, SQL and using ETL tools like Alteryx, Informatica etc.
• Ability to architect and drive data strategy working on both structured and unstructured data sets. Experience in Working in R & Python for building predictive models
• Strong in data analytics (e.g. forecasting, simulation, and optimization techniques)
• Familiarity and working knowledge in Machine Learning techniques such as Random Forest, Neural Networks, Support Vector Machines, Gradient Boosting
• Knowledge of working on Open Source and Full Stack technologies e.g., Angular JS, React JS is desirable
