The Reporting & Risk Specialist is responsible for risk management with financial counterparties under the applicable derivative regulations framework and the Group Treasury Directive. In addition, he / she ensures adherence to the internal control framework (specific for Group Treasury) and is responsible for various reporting matters, including month-end closing and reporting to various authorities Swiss National Bank (SNB) and Swiss Stock Exchange (SIX) etc.)

Your responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Responsible for various (financial) reporting and accounting matters, such as preparation journal entries, month-end closing activities, preparation of FCRS reporting schedules, SIX reporting
• Novartis Pension Fund performance reports and analysis of Group Treasury cost center budget.
• Responsible for various Risk Management activities, such as adherence to counterparty credit limit framework, risk identification / indication (“Early Warning Process”). Ensure relevant agreements (ISDA, EMIR/FinfraG dispute resolution, FMIA agreements, LEI, etc.) with financial counterparties are in place, maintained in a database and regularly monitored for validity
• Timely confirmation, reconciliation and dispute resolution of open OTC derivative positions with financial counterparties. Collateral management of open positions in close collaboration with cash management team
• Coordination and support in Novartis Financial Control Manual (NFCM) / SOX404 Treasury Controls; maintain matrix, perform controls (reconciliations), controls testing and follow up on deficiencies / improvement areas
• Monitor and maintain systems and operations related to Middle Office, Accounting and Reporting, such as Bloomberg valuations, SAP interface. Maintenance of TMS (“Quantum”) Static Data related to Middle Office activities.
• Contribute to various projects and improvements initiatives

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor Degree in Finance, Economics, or equivalent
• Sound knowledge of Corporate Treasury or banking sector is a strong plus. Good understanding of Financial Compliance & Controls
• 4 – 5 years experience in Treasury, Accounting and Tax, preferable at a “Big 4” audit firm
• Good SAP and MS Office (Excel) skills, knowledge of Quantum is a benefit
• Good communication skills in English, German is a plus
