1 Purpose. To drive drug discovery using advanced genomics.

The Chemical Biology and Therapeutics (CBT) department merges groundbreaking technical capabilities with deep scientific expertise to deliver bold innovations at the forefront of science. As the Site Lead of the CBT Next-Generation Sequencing team in Cambridge, MA, you will spearhead our efforts to develop and deploy new genomic methods to deliver atomic resolution of disease, drug targets, and mechanistic understanding of novel therapeutics to the organization.

Your Responsibilities Include:

- Helping your team grow and develop in a curious, inspired, and unbossed culture.

- Maintaining and advancing our suite of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, as well as bulk RNA seq, DNA and epigenomics, short and long-read NGS methodologies.

- Continuing to strengthen our industry-leading cell and gene therapy portfolio with genomics technologies.

- Proactively identifying new genomic solutions based on emerging needs across the organization.

- Ensuring a science-driven prioritization strategy, and timely and transparent communication to stakeholders.

- Establishing effective relationships with disease area scientists and cross-functional scientific teams in a matrixed environment to deliver high-impact science for key NIBR projects.

- Partnering with NIBR Data Scientists to ensure maximum impact, invest in data as a key asset, and help define data analysis standards.

- Engaging with external innovators, academics, and biotechs to identify and evaluate new technologies and outstanding biology research.

- Leading cross-departmental or department-wide initiatives.

Minimum Requirements

What You'll Bring to the Role:

- PhD in biology, genomics, computational biology, or a related field, with 5+ years of demonstrated scientific impact in multiple genomics technologies and applications.

- Knowledge of genomics applications in multiple areas of complex disease biology.

- Ability to articulate questions which can be answered from sophisticated data sets.

- A robust understanding of the drug discovery process, from exploratory to clinical stages, and across numerous therapeutic modalities including small molecule, biologics, and cell and gene therapy.

- An enterprise-wide mentality with demonstrated ability to prioritize projects across a large matrix organization.

- A track record of developing talent and team leadership.

- Significant supervisory experience of scientists engaged in groundbreaking genomics research.

- A publication record demonstrating a focus on advancing genomics technology in support of drug discovery and disease research.

Desirable Skills:

- Familiarity with command line Linux and Python scripting
