In this role you will manage and monitor Patient-oriented programs (POPs) and manage safety aspects of Digital Engagement Assets (DEAs) and Social Media listening programs (SMLPs) to ensure compliance with Novartis global/local procedures, national and international regulations/ standards/guidelines for vigilance of Novartis group marketed and investigational products (drugs and medical devices). Major accountabilities:

• Be the point of contact and subject matter expert for Patient Oriented Programs (POP)
• Create a robust system for POP Governance with efficient processes and end-to-end compliance monitoring and ensure regular quality controls and deviation management.
• Play an active and leading role in cross-functional POP expert teams and support with an innovative and entrepreneur like mind-set operational excellence at local, regional, and global level.
• Establish close collaboration between business owners, quality assurance and patient safety teams and ensure pro-active engagement of involved stakeholders, strategic alignment and partnering with business functions.
• Train, guide and support the POP program owners, External Service Providers (ESPs) or other involved personnel on the process.
• Play a key role in implementation of Patient Support Programs, a subcategory of POP, which give a key opportunity to learn from real-world patient insights and have a high strategic value in our patient engagement strategies and for Novartis overall.
• Show affinity towards technology and digitalization and support implementation of Social Media Listening Programs (SMLP) and Digital Engagement Assets (DEA).
• Be the pharmacovigilance subject matter expert and point of contact for SMLP/DEAs running in Switzerland and manage local pharmacovigilance tasks for these programs together with other local/global stakeholders.

Minimum Requirements

• Health Care Sciences Professional (preferably pharmacist or natural scientist), ideally with PhD, with an affinity towards digital technology
• Pharmacist or natural scientist: at least 2 years’ experience in drug safety, clinical research, medical device management, quality management, medical information management, compliance management or closely related areas of responsibility
• Fluent in German, French and English, both written and spoken
• In-depth understanding of national and international regulations for pharmacovigilance
• Good knowledge of pharmacological and medical terminology and a broad knowledge of physiology, pharmacology, clinical study objectives, and the drug development process
• High focus on quality with a good knowledge of relevant GxP-guidelines.
• Excellent communications, interpersonal and negotiation skills, along with very good organizational, planning and project management skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team and without close supervision, as well as ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight timelines
